Robert Franklin Poole, 1893-1958 was a noted plant pathologist and president of Clemson College from 1940-1958. A 1916 graduate of Clemson College, Poole received his M.S. and Ph. D. in plant pathology from Rutgers University. Poole was appointed associate professor and plant pathologist at North Carolina College in 1926. James M. Eleazer was born December 19, 1895. He majored in agronomy at Clemson College and served as a county extension agent from 1917-1945 and began writing agricultural columns in 1918. From 1946 until his retirement in December 1961 he worked at Clemson as an extension service information specialist with USDA.
